What happens to your files

When you translate a document, it travels over an encrypted connection to our processing service, gets translated, and comes back to you as a download. The text is sent to our translation model (Google Gemini) to do the actual translating. That’s the whole journey.

On the free bring-your-own-key path, your file never leaves your browser — only the text goes straight to the model with your own key, and we don’t see any of it.

What we store — and what we don’t

We store: your email (so you can sign in), your plan, and a counter of the words and pages you’ve used this month. That’s the list.

We don’t store: your source documents, your translations, or your content — beyond the short window needed to deliver your result.

We never train on your content

Your documents are not used to train any model — ours or anyone else’s. We call Google Gemini through its API, where submitted content isn’t used to improve Google’s models.

Who else is involved

We keep the toolbox small, and we’ll name everyone in it:

• Google Gemini — the translation model. Receives the text to be translated.
• Supabase — our accounts, database and temporary file storage (hosted in the EU).
• Lemon Squeezy — handles payments, so your card details never touch us.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone outside this short list.

How long we keep things

Uploaded files and finished translations auto-delete within 24 hours — usually much sooner. Your account details stay until you ask us to delete them, and then they’re gone for good.

Your choices

Want a copy of your data, or to delete your account? Email contact@linglo.io and we’ll action your request within 30 days. Your files auto-delete within 24 hours either way.

Cookies

The bare minimum: a cookie to keep you signed in, and your preferences (theme, language) saved in your own browser. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics following you around the web.

If this ever changes

If we update this policy we’ll change the date at the top, and for anything that actually matters, we’ll email you.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using linglo (“the service”) you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use linglo for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf.

2. What linglo does

linglo translates text and documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF and localization files) across 45 languages, with a focus on Arabic. Translations are produced by AI and may contain errors — you are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure and give us accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account is for one person or organisation; don’t share credentials.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: submit content you don’t have the right to translate; use linglo for anything illegal, harmful or infringing; attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or scrape the service; or resell it as your own. We may suspend accounts that do.

5. Plans, billing & refunds

linglo has a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed through our payments provider (Lemon Squeezy). You can cancel anytime from your account — cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period ends. The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and is non-refundable. Quotas reset each billing cycle. Prices may change, but never for a period you have already paid for.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents and text you submit. You grant linglo a limited licence to process that content solely to provide your translation and return it to you. We don’t use your content to train any model, and inputs and results auto-delete within 24 hours. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Our intellectual property

The linglo name, brand, site and software are ours. These terms don’t grant you any right to use them beyond using the service as intended.

8. Availability

We work hard to keep linglo running but can’t promise it will never be unavailable, and we may add, change or remove features over time.

9. Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. AI translation can be wrong or incomplete; we don’t warrant that output is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose. Decisions you make based on a translation are your own.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, linglo is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.

11. Termination

You can stop using linglo and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tunisia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights, those still apply.

13. Changes

If we update these terms we’ll change the date above, and we’ll email you about anything material.
